From the first sentence alone a stereotypical image of a geeky person flashed in my head. Then as I kept on reading, the author just kept reinforcing that same stereotypical image of a geek. She kept going on and on about how geeky she was and the interesting thing was that she did not look at this as a bad thing. From her stories she would share that she enjoyed how she was even if others would pick on her. She was able to enjoy all this because she found people who were just like her, people who she could easily be herself when they were around. It was very uplifting to see that even if society did not look upon her with favor, she enjoyed herself by basically being herself. It reminded me that we should really not judge and look condescendingly on others even if society did so. I liked how the geek was able to just be herself and be happy about that. I really think that’s something people should and could learn from her.
