The first thing that hit me about this selection was the fact that the language that we use on a daily basis is wired in such a way that sexism becomes something that is natural or even unavoidable. I was able to understand all this because the author was able to divide what he was trying to say into major points and build up on each. She gave thoughts as to why a certain aspect of language was sexist and she was able to back up her ideas with lots of example. This made the text more factual and informative since she actually had basis for the things she was saying and they were not just her own opinions on the matter. With the way she was able to organize her arguments, she was able to clearly get her ideas across to her readers.
